African Dance

African Dance has been introduced to the Club members 7 to 11 years of age. These dances were used to teach social patterns and values and helps people work, mature, praise or criticize while also celebrating festivals, funerals, competing, reciting history, and poetry. This program is designed to teach African dance while improving fitness, emotional well-being, social skills and offering intellectual stimulation by providing new opportunities.

Drama with Leigh

Dramatic play encourages club members ages 6 to 12 years to be creative and expressive. Drama needs no written lines to memorize or structured behavior patterns to imitate. Children enjoy a safe, interesting environment and freedom to experiment with roles, conflict, and problem solving.

CATCH

CATCH Kids Club (CKC) brings healthy activity to after-school and community recreation programs for children in 6 to 10 years of age. CKC is composed of nutrition education materials (including snack activities) and a physical activity component. The program is designed with a format that is inclusionary of all children.

Cool Moves

Cool Moves was created with the support of Kraft Canada to offer children ages 8 to 12 years the opportunity to learn how to "Play Cool" by incorporating more physical activity into their daily lives, and "Eat Smart" by learning about the kinds of foods that make up a healthy diet. Cool Movesprovides an excellent opportunity to teach kids about health and nutrition in a fun way!

Educational Games

Reading Circle

Children will learn and practice reading to further develop their skills. They are encouraged to continue using and developing their new skills by taking turns reading aloud as well as reading along in the text while other read aloud. When children become good readers at an early stage, they are more likely to become better learners throughout their school years.
