Social, educational and recreational programs for youth 14-19 years old.

Monday - Friday 1pm-9pm

TAG Together as Friends Project
The youth from the Jane and Finch community will come together to produce a video-web magazine that focuses on issues around drugs and substance abuse. The youth will learn how to use a video camera, how to edit, how to interview, and then produce a video web magazine.

JLT Kickstart to Health

G1 Prep program
Thinking about driving - here’s your chance! This program will help prep you for your G1 test, so have no fear! We will coach you how to remember the signs and the rules of the road all you need to do is show up and be ready.

The Lane
Youth participate in creating a monthly newsletter that focuses on keeping you informed with updates, events and community accomplishments. All contributions welcomed.

Barber Sessions/Nubian Hair Design
Let’s cut it out ! For all  youth that have a passion for hair we are introducing the Barber Shop and Nubian Hair Store. This program will allow youth to learn how to barber and how to do up your hair in the latest styles.

Dinner & Movie
Youth will enjoy eating food that they help prepare and serve. After dinner we will watch movies that YOU request and have an open dialogue about issues and themes viewed within the movie.

Stepping Out
This is an etiquette program that is designed for both males and females to learn how to interact, demonstrating style and respect.  Learn about healthy relationships, how to dress and impress, dine out on a budget, experience other styles of dance, improve public speaking skills, personal grooming, getting to know yourself and the joy of philanthropy.

Fasion Law
Do you want to make fashion your career? Join the glamour squad! In this program we will be teaching you how to dress, coordinate, sew and repair clothing. We will also be studying media issues around fashion and studying the style of  fellow designers.

Workshops
This program gives youth an opportunity to get informed and to gain new skills to better deal with issues they face on a daily basis. Our workshops will be exciting with opportunity for hands on experiences. We will be basing our workshops on your ideas,skills, interests, and abilities.

Photography and Documentary Program
Youth will learn how to operate a camera, edit video, film short documentaries, work on lighting, and create background displays. Youth will also get  the opportunity to use digital cameras for production.

In Your Face TV
Youth will learn and gain skills using various media forums to create video reels, film strips and about the functioning of the camera.

Sound Studio
Youth will be given an opportunity to learn how to produce music, make beats and how to engineer a studio. Youth  will be given an opportunity to learn new skills, find out more about the industry and meet local and influential artists.

Computer Lab
Youth will have full access to the computers for doing research, homework, writing resumes, e-mail, job searching,  improving computer skills or just surfing the net.
