Youth Compass
Activities for youth such as homework help, adjusting to high school life, time management, music, movies, activities, arts, sports, recreation, swimming and field trips throughout the city. On Wednesdays, homework assistance and writing workshops with a York University student will be available.

Music Studio
Youth artists will be eligible to sign up for an eight session program based on their interests. Sessions are generally two hours long, with the option to focus on recording, mixing, mastering and engineering techniques, writing, beat-making and more. In addition to the eight week program, there will also be limited open studio time available for those that have not yet received regular time.

Triple Play
Triple Play is a dynamic wellness program that demonstrates how eating right, keeping fit and forming positive relationships add up to a healthy lifestyle. The goal of the program is to improve Club members' knowledge of healthy habits, increase the number of hours per day they participate in physical activities, and strengthen their ability to interact positively with others and engage in positive relationships. Methods from core training programs specifically for basketball and hockey will be incorporated.

Cooking
Youth prepare a full course meal with all the fixings and eat it too! Menu planning, recipe research, preparation duties, complete post-activity clean up and of course....cooking! An annual "Iron Chef" competition will be held where St. Alban's youth will compete against youth from affiliated sites.

Basketball
Skills, drills and friendly games will be organized.

Glee Club
Members will explore acting exercises, simple movement for musical theatre and an introduction to singing. Members learn songs and movement from current and classic musicals with opportunities to perform their work in front of an audience.

Skateboarding
Skateboarding for all levels inside St. Alban’s gym. Ramps and rails are set up every Tuesday evening with instructions from skateboarding teacher.

Real Talk
Where young men come together to discuss issues that affect them. A place where their voices will be heard and concerns will be dealt with. Workshops ranging from anti-bullying to conflict resolution will be regularly featured. There will be a mentoring opportunity with the STARS after school program, and an annual picnic will be held in the summer.

Scratch and Spin
St. Alban's studio is equipped with turntables and Serato. Come learn the art of DJ-ing from one of the best club DJ's around.

Music Jam
Young musicians who want a chance to jam with other music enthusiasts are welcome, explore rhythms and the art of collaboration. Bring your instrument and prepare to have fun!

Hip Hop Dance
Sudents will learn different styles and forms of hip hop that will help educate them in understanding its art. Reading music, understanding levels, character, lines and techniques will be explored in this program. Using the latest moves and songs, the students will have an enjoyable class while building their self confidence and expression.

Supper Club
Former St. Alban's youth and culinary graduate, Deon King, provides gourmet meals for a great price, with all proceeds going back into youth programs.

Just Cause
Youth not only watch hot documentaries and discuss them, they will have a chance to create a documentary of their own. Every other week, the creation of our very own documentary will be the focus.

Floor Hockey
Competitive non-contact ball hockey for youth and adults. Opportunity to try out for St. Alban's Hockey Squad, a travelling team that goes out to challenge other community centres, Boys and Girls Clubs and schools.

Girls on the Move
A program created to empower girls with the necessary tools to succeed in this challenging world and to become healthy, educated, contributing young women. The group takes part in weekend seminars where they have an opportunity to bond and spend time together. The group also volunteers around the Club and within the Community. The Junior League of Toronto partners with the Girls on the Move program, providing workshops on cooking, healthy food choices and healthy body image.

Sistahood
Sistahood is a social group for high school aged girls to gather and discuss issues that are relevant to their daily lives as well as topics that they are interested in.
The girls enjoy cooking, coffee and cookies and other activities while building community among  the female youth at the club. The Junior League of Toronto partners with the Sistahood program.

Guitar
Participants will work mainly on simple strumming patterns and simple rhythms where students will learn the fundamental skill of going from one chord to another. Participants will also learn songs that require simple chord progressions and strumming patterns. Participants must have a guitar.

Kickstart to Health Running Program
JLT Kickstart for Health is a program designed to empower teenage girls and their families to embrace a healthy lifestyle by building confidence, developing new skills, and inspiring positive life choices.
Be prepared to run in any weather. We will train for a 10k run on April 22nd.
Registered program for girls. Drop in for moms and community members.

Tha' Word
Explore the art of storytelling and poetry through creative writing, voice and movement.

Youth Council
Bring your voice, experience and leadership and discuss key issues facing young people and the ways St. Alban's can better serve the youth community. Opportunities for leadership conferences, training and Camp Smitty are only available to members of youth council.

Youth Employment Program
Youth will learn how to prepare a resume, research desired employment opportunities and attend job fairs. Selected youth will be trained in three St. Alban's departments - Preschool, STARS and Youth. Upon completion of their training, youth will be eligible for part-time relief work at St. Alban's.

UPS Safe Driving Simulation
UPS Road Code was developed as a preventative measure to help teens learn safe driving habits before they get behind the wheel. Through the use of computers and state-of-the-art driving simulators, youth will work through a 6 hour (4X1.5 hour modules) curriculum delivered by a UPS volunteer trainer (who is a UPS Gold Level Driver). Topics included distracted driving, consequences of hazardous and distracted driving, aggressive driving and road rage, hazard identification, safe driving skills and more. Program is free but you must register in order to participate.

Focus Effect
As part of the Drug Prevention Community Investment Program, St. Alban's will be filming a series of documentaries that cover the realities of substance abuse. Youth in the community are asked to participate by sharing their creative ideas, talent and skills towards the production of the film. Participants will gain useful knowledge about drug prevention and will be able to share what they have learned by participating in a public screening of the film during the Reel Youth film festival.

Literacy through Hip Hop
Participants will explore hip hop culture as a vehicle to express ideas, recreate narratives, interpret articles and lyrics, and discover talents.

Photography
The photography program is geared to suit a wide range of levels, from the beginner to the more intermediate photographer. Students learn all of the functions of the digital camera and have in class lessons, as well as plenty of hands on practice time to build their confidence and skills. Lessons focus on technique and composition, and include:  night photography, shooting in various lighting scenarios, landscape tips, and portraiture tips, experimenting with different perspectives, using lines, repetition, and patterns to make a captivating image.  Basic Photoshop skills will also be developed, such as converting to black & white, white balance, contrast and colour adjustment, sizing and resolution.

Crochet Corner
Participants will learn to master the craft of crochet while having fun in an enjoyable environment.

Fashion
Learn how to design and sew your own clothes using sewing machines.  This group will also talk about current styles and trends and put on a fashion show at the end of the session.

Computers 101
A structured computer program where youth can learn how to use all Microsoft Programs, design websites, CD covers, create video games, etc. Keyboarding skills will be included at the request of the youth. This is not a registered program but there will be no "free access" during program hours.

Volleyball
Take part in co-ed volleyball games - learning skills and techniques as you play. Inter-club games throughout the season.
