COVID-19 prevention protocols in the aquatic department

  • Staff trained on COVID-19 prevention and our Club’s health and safety protocols
  • Private Lessons only for Level 5 and up
  • Semi private – for family/siblings only (same household/bubble)
  • 4 individual semi private classes per hour
  • Classes will only be 30 minutes in length, and there will be fewer hours of service – allowing for more time for cleaning
  • Every person (child and parent) must complete a wellness check before swimmers enter the building. Masks are mandatory during wellness checks for parents and children.
  • Children will enter via the front doors into the pool area and pick up/dismissal will be through the pool deck doors –at the side of the building
  • Swimmers will be escorted to and from their class by the aquatic staff
  • Please inform us if your swimmer is allowed to leave on their own
  • Parents will not be able to enter the building
  • Extra cleaning practices have been implemented – pool deck, bleachers and shower areas
  • Children are asked to wear a mask until they enter the water and place it back on when exiting the water
  • Goggles are mandatory – St. Alban’s is not allowed to lend out goggles at this time.
  • Instructors will wear personal protective equipment
  • Change rooms will remain closed – (other washroom access and quick showers after class)
  • Children are asked to come in their swim wear and will change on the pool deck- before their class
  • At the end of the class- children will have an opportunity to rinse off quickly in the showers and then change on the bleachers  
  • Instructors will clean and sanitize in between classes
  • Instructors will practice physical distancing as much as possible, especially when completing demonstrations or instructions
  • Equipment will be assigned to one child and will be cleaned and disinfected between users
  • Access to soap and water or hand sanitizer for participants and staff at all times
  • Removal of any unnecessary equipment that may elevate the risk of transmission- from the pool deck/bleachers
