Volunteers are an important part of the St. Alban’s Boys and Girls Club team.
At St. Alban’s, we have the following types of volunteer opportunities:
- High school students (15 years+) who enter into the Youth Volunteer Program, where they receive training and support in leading children in the after school STARS program or the summer camp program. Due to the intensive mentorship and training aspect of this program, there are only a small number of spots each session and opportunities are given based on applications.
- Single day group volunteers assisting with special events, cleanup and renovation projects around the facility.
- Board of Directors volunteers
- Volunteers who raise funds to help us continue to deliver our high quality, safe and fun programs for children and youth by joining our national fundraising event, Race for Kids, or by holding their own fundraiser.
Successful applicants 18 years of age and older will complete a police reference check before their placement begins.
Third Party Fundraising
Another significant way to volunteer your time to help our Club, is to hold a third party fundraising campaign. What this means is that you hold a fundraiser of any kind – a garage sale, a walk-a-thon, a yoga-a-thon, a baking contest, etc, and donate the proceeds to St. Alban’s. Funds raised go towards our programs and services and allow for more children and youth to benefit from the opportunities we offer. If desired, you can designate the funds raised to a specific location or area of programming.
You can even set up your own Giving Page on Canada Helps.
