We would like to inform you that we have now been accepted into the CWELCC system, which supports quality, accessible, affordable, and inclusive early learning in licensed child care settings serving children under the age of six. We are currently awaiting a Service Agreement from the City, once that is signed, we expect to shortly receive the funding from the City. Once the funding is received, we will then reimburse fees paid as of January 1, 2023 according to the agreement (which is (according to the schedule previously provided) a 50% reduction in fees). In November, we shared our decision to apply for the funding in 2023 to give families the fee respite as we continue to review the benefits and impacts of CWELCC on our financial viability, retention of quality child care staff, and our outstanding program quality that we and our community have built over the last 30+ years. Our expectation was that we would be able to apply at the beginning of the new year, however, the application is not yet available to us. We have not received an update from the government as to when we will be able to apply. It is our understanding that if/when our application is approved, that the refund would be applied retroactively, so families will still benefit from the reduced fee for the whole year. We are regularly checking the website so that we can apply as soon as we are able to.
