Youth cooking program  - Spring session

Are you a young aspiring chef or simply looking to gain valuable life skills? Look no further! We're excited to introduce our new cooking program designed specifically for youth aged 12 and above. This Spring session, running from March 19th to May 21st, offers a unique opportunity to learn essential meal planning, preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety in a fun and engaging environment.

Why should young people learn to cook? Here are just a few of the many benefits:
  1. Develops life skills: Learning to cook helps young people become more self-sufficient and independent, preparing them for a future away from home, whether that's college, living on their own, or starting a family.
  2. Encourages healthy eating habits: By understanding how to prepare meals from scratch, youth can make informed decisions about the ingredients they use, leading to healthier eating habits and an overall healthier lifestyle.
  3. Fosters creativity: Cooking is an art form that allows for endless creativity. Youth can experiment with flavours, textures, and presentation, discovering their unique culinary style.
  4. Promotes social and family connections: Sharing meals brings people together. Learning to cook encourages young people to connect with friends and family, fostering stronger relationships and a sense of community.
  5. Teaches responsibility and time management: Cooking requires organization, cleanliness, and time management. These skills translate to other areas of life, including school, work, and personal responsibilities.
  6. Boosts self-confidence: Mastering new skills and creating delicious meals can significantly boost a young person's self-esteem and confidence in their abilities.
