If schools are closed, there will be changes to our programs.

With the possibility of schools being closed on Monday due to strike action, we are planning for changes to our programs at our Main Clubhouse and satellite locations (Regal Road, McMurrich, Rawlinson, Kensington).
Daytime program
If schools are closed, we will NOT be offering a daytime program for children on Monday. Should the strike continue past Monday, we are considering offering a program on Tuesday (and beyond) but it will depend on staff availability and updated guidelines for authorized recreation programs.
If
we are able to run a program on Tuesday, the program will be $60/day, will be located at our Main Clubhouse, will run from 9am-5pm and will only be offered to those children that already attend the STARS After School program at our Main Clubhouse and any satellite locations. You MUST register in order to attend. No same day drop offs will be accepted. We will send a follow up email on Monday with registration details if schools are closed and if we are permitted to run a program.
STARS After School Program – if schools are closed.
If schools are closed, the STARS after school program will still run for the children who attend at our Main Clubhouse only. No shuttle service will be available but if you are able to get your kids here for 3:30 and pick up at 6pm we will have lots of fun activities for them!
We will assess a reduction in fees at the end of the strike action once we determine the number of days the schools will be closed for.
Aquatic Program at Winona P.S.
If schools are closed for in person learning, they will also be closed to Authorized Recreation Programs, meaning that we will be unable to run the aquatic program at Winona P.S.
Once we find out how many days our program will be closed for (if any), we will determine whether we can extend the session or offer a refund for missed classes.
Programs for Youth
Evening programs for youth will run as usual. Daytime homework help and computer lab access will be on offer as well. Please contact Youth Program Coordinators directly.
We remain hopeful that an agreement will be reached over the weekend and school will be open as usual on Monday!

Returning for the fifth year, Youth of the Year is BGC Canada’s national initiative to recognize and celebrate exceptional youth who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, service, and achievements within their communities. Youth of the Year encourages young people to become active role models and a voice for young people across Canada. This year, five youth receive post-secondary scholarships, laptops, prize packages, and development and media training. Ruben has been involved with BGC St. Alban’s Club (at our Weston Mount Dennis site) for 10 years as a Club member, volunteer, and Club staff. He describes his Club experience as transformative, helping him build life skills like adaptability, teamwork, self-confidence, and leadership. As a youth council member at his own Club, attending BGC Canada’s 2023 National Youth Forum was a memorable experience that shaped how he wants to show up for his community. Outside of the Club, Ruben is a leader in his school community, stays grounded in his values, and always finds ways to uplift others. Ruben is passionate about being a voice for young people who want to make an impact. As Youth of the Year, he’s ready to show young people across Canada the power of youth-led change.

In the past year, Charitable Gaming has raised over $100 million for Ontario charities! When you play, local charities win! BGC St. Alban's Club is proud to be part of this amazing initiative. Proceeds from charitable gaming directly support our programs and help purchase essential supplies and equipment. We encourage everyone to visit Delta Bingo and Gaming for an entertaining experience, lots of fun, and the chance to support a great cause. Every play benefits local participants and their program experiences.

Thank you for celebrating with us! On November 21st, we gathered with staff and members from the past 75 years for an unforgettable evening. As we shared memories, laughter, and even a few tears, it was a poignant reminder of the connections we've forged over the years. We reflected on the changes we've witnessed and remembered those members of our St. Alban's family who are no longer with us. Together, we raised a glass, enjoyed delicious food, and celebrated the bonds that make our community so special. It was a truly memorable night that brought together generations of St. Alban's history and underscored the deep connection we all share. Please see our photo gallery for a reminder of this beautiful evening.
